What is the adoption process?Thank you for choosing to adopt and save a life! The first step is to fill out an application. After you fill out all sections of your application, please be patient. We know adopting a pup is very exciting, and we are so thankful, but all of our volunteers work full time jobs too. Processing takes 3-4 weeks, sometimes less. Please call your vet and two references so they know to expect a reference check, follow up with them to ensure they returned any missed connections. You only need to fill out ONE application. Filling out one for each dog you’re interested in is not necessary. Applications are valid for 6 months. Once your application is approved, a processor will contact you. After you have a processor, save their number! The processor is your point of contact for the rescue. See a pup on Facebook or Instagram you want to meet? Contact your processor! Have questions about a specific dog? Contact your processor. ----> We also have a private Facebook group you can join to see all available dogs. Please ask your processor for this link.

What dogs are available? Some of our adoptable dogs are listed here. If you message us and ask for a list, we will first tell you to fill out an application as the application process takes some time and the list changes frequently. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application. Once approved you will be assigned a processor. They will add you to a private Facebook group that has an album with our available puppies/dogs. If more than one person wants a puppy/dog, we go by the oldest application to be fair.

I am approved to adopt! Now what?

Do you have puppies available?Yes! We have lots of puppies that need homes, there will always be puppies! The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application. What are your open hours so I can meet all the dogs?We are a foster based rescue. This means all of our rescued dogs live with foster families. They are learning how to be a member of a loving family, new manners & tricks and what it feels like to sleep in a warm, cozy crate. Sometimes they are still too young to be away from their littermates so some fosters will care for a few puppies that need a little extra time together, learning about boundaries and getting that comfort from a sibling. If you do want to meet a dog, contact your processor. We have meets 2 times a week and follow all safety guidelines.

What is the puppy's breed? We don't know. Most of our puppies/dogs are rescued from high kill shelters. This means we do not have much history on them including what breed their parents are/were. When we post on Facebook, we give our best guess but the only way to find out for sure if through a DNA test. There are many great tests on the market and it’s always fun to find out! When you adopt from us you will be invited to join the Adopters Facebook group and can stay in contact with your puppy’s littermates if they had any. Often times one sibling gets a test done and shares with everyone.

What is a processor?A processor is a volunteer in our rescue that reviews adoption applications. They call your references, check your employment (doggies are expensive!), call your vet and reach out to you with any follow up questions. They approve or deny your application based on our criteria for eligible adopters. Once you are assigned a processor, please save their contact information. They are your point of contact for the rescue! If you see a dog on Facebook or Pet Finder that you want to meet, contact your processor. If you have a dog specific question, contact your processor. Most importantly, be kind to them. They all work full time jobs and sacrifice family time to volunteer for the rescue. We couldn’t save dogs without them!

I want to foster, what do I need to do?"Thank you! Fostering saves lives! The first step is to fill out a foster application, once approved our Foster Coordinator will reach out to review how everything works in detail. She will add you to a private group for fosters on Facebook. This group is a great support system, any additional questions or resources you need can be found here. Whenever we are in need of fosters (always!) one of our Foster Coordinators will post in this private group what dogs are coming in and when. You can let our Coordinators know your preference in age and how many puppies from a litter. We provide food, collar, leash, crate and cover all vet costs. Most dogs will have vet visits and meets during the week so fosters need to be available to bring their foster pup to the building.

I want to foster but I am afraid I will get attached. You will get attached. It's a foster's special role to teach a puppy who has never seen love how to give and receive love. You teach them how to be a member of a family. That's what makes adopting from a foster based rescue so special. You just have to remind yourself that there are so many puppies out there that wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for selfless fosters. You can do it! I also always suggest fostering more than 1! It makes it "easier". Fostering is the most rewarding experience. Fostering saves lives.

Can I adopt my foster dog?Yes! Our policy has recently changed and all dogs who enter our rescue are eligible through our Foster to Adopt program. These applicants must fill out both adoption and foster applications. You will have two weeks to decide if your foster is the perfect fit for your family! If you are not fostering through the Foster to Adopt program, you can choose to adopt your foster if they haven't already been posted on our main Facebook page. If they have already been officially posted, we go in order of adoption application to be fair.

How is fostering different from Foster to Adopt?Fosters recieve all supplies for their foster dogs. Foster to Adopt applicants must provide their own food and supplies but we set up their first vet check with our vet! Our foster coordinator team will set up that appointment on a Tuesday afternoon. Foster to Adopt applicants also have two weeks to decide if their foster pup is a perfect fit! Fosters can still adopt their dog, they must contact foster coordinators BEFORE the dog is posted on the Main Facebook page. If they do not, then we go in order of adoption application.
